The name says it all. The property at #180 Carlatan sits right along the National Highway with the Pacific just a short walk behind it — a 180-degree world of road noise on one side and rolling waves on the other. That tension between arrival and escape is exactly what the family wanted guests to feel the moment they stepped through the gate.

Tita Malou and Tito Tom, along with their son Jeff, opened the doors with a straightforward conviction: La Union deserved a place that felt genuinely like home. Not a resort that mimics homeliness, but a family property that actually is one — complete with a garden you can linger in, a cat underfoot, and hosts who remember your name by your second morning.

Over the years the property has welcomed surfers chasing Urbiztondo's breaks, remote workers looking to swap the Manila grid for a sea breeze, and families simply wanting somewhere calm and human. It has hosted birthday celebrations, team outings, and the occasional music video. The DOT accreditation came. The follower count grew. But the founding principle stayed the same — everyone who books a room joins the family, at least for a few nights.
